Democratic Borrowing?

With the perpetual fundraising advantage the the Republican Party has, the Democrats always have to fight uphill. But the Democratic Party has a gale force wind at its back right now, with conditions that aren't likely to be repeated. So, despite the impressively increased fundraising under Howard Dean, why should the Democrats continue to fight with one hand tied behind their back?

I'm wondering if it is possible for the Democratic Party to borrow money in order to feed the national wave. Is that legal? I know individual candidates can go into debt, but I don't think I've been alive for a case of party-level borrowing.

Talk about the ultimate vindication of Chairman Dean's infrastructure investment. Just go $20 million into debt for the final push, inundate the air with ads and the ground with GOTV, and reap it all back when we're established as the majority.
